“I noticed the effects immediately after starting the therapy” – a patient with Multiple Sclerosis.

Multiple Sclerosis and medical marijuana

I suffer from MS, otherwise known as multiple sclerosis. What characterizes my disease? Among other symptoms, muscle spasms. 10 years ago, I had to come to terms with the fact that from now on, I wouldn’t have full control over my body. The doctor who diagnosed me and has been treating me for many years mentioned the effectiveness of therapy with medical cannabis. I was surprised and wondered, “does it really work?”

Unfortunately, a few years ago, cannabis was not spoken about in Poland, certainly not in a positive way. Medical marijuana was not legalized either. I had to manage differently. When I started therapy on my own, I noticed that muscle spasms occurred much less frequently. I decided not to interrupt the treatment even though my supply was not laboratory tested. I saw improvement, so I took the risk. Imagine my surprise and joy when I learned that from now on, I would be able to buy my supply from a pharmacy. I could be under the care of a doctor who would oversee my therapy, and I would be treating myself entirely legally.

Now, I don’t have to worry about the quality of the medication. Thanks to the therapy, I feel like a healthy person. I have no symptoms resulting from my disease. Simply put, they have all stopped. What I would like to convey to others – do not be swayed by the bad reputation of medical cannabis. Don’t be afraid to try. From experience, I can confidently say that it was worth it.
